The advantage of hand held blender

When you have a small food processing jobs and do not want to pull your bulky processor pantry, a hand held blender or a stick blender may be just the thing. Of the 17 on the test, all are very good or excellent for mixing and emulsion, but the facility could use some models leave much to be desired.

Safety is as important as convenience however, as their sharp, exposed leaves make quick work of many foods, ensuring hands stay away from them is vital. The good news is that all the models tested have guards that partially cover the leaves.

We tested two groups: those models that mix, emulsify, cutting, grinding and processing hard foods (which come with a chopper / processor binding, so we simply remove the center of the mixture to fix the fixture) and models that only can mix and emulsify soft foods.

We tested for:

Performance
Ease of use
Blending and emulsifying (all models)
Chopping, grinding and processing (seven machines came with a separate chopper/processor unit)
